A Hub for Girl Geeks in Nairobi

Over the last few months, I've been lucky enough to get the chance to know an incredible young Kenyan technologist named Linnet Kwamboka. Linnet is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Nairobi as is a brilliant woman who's tackling some pretty tough business problems through the innovative use of technology.

Ms. Kwamboka is also a founding member of a cool new startup group called AkiraChix. What makes AkiraChix so cool is that they are there to offer help to Kenyan women who want to pursue technology education, careers, or interests. They're a small group now, but watch out world: these ladies are dead serious about their tech and they've got the chops to prove it.

I'm john kimingi, one of the founding members of The IT Group, Moi University and i'm impressed by what akirachix is doing so far.

I'm looking forward to see more projects touching on women especially in the rural areas, a mobile application where one can access information touching on agriculture / market prices. Keep coding
